A New Family Member To Kiss !

Tonight was scheduled to lay guitars on the songs "Back On Track",
and "Eye Of The Beholder". The latter song is a fast metal waltz,
but the former is a real metal epic anthem, and for this special
occasion Rick brought his all new Washburn Paul Stanley
PS-9 guitar to spice up the sound. As You can see we played
and toyed along with it really good, and the sounding result
will soon reach a boom box near You !
Until next time, Ride The Big One ! :)

It´s Been A Hard Day´s Night..

.. and I HAVE been working like a dog, and so has Peter. Lead vocals for 3 songs were recorded today. First up was "Back On Track" (That will hopefully feature special guest no 2) and that went splendidly. Next song to the vocal grinder was
"Stone Cold", a snappy little song that really smells of Peters classic M.O.B guitarwork.

Then came "Who Are You", pheeew.. It´s a tough song to sing but we pulled through eventually and Peter was a rock as usual as we traded ideas back and forth regarding the vocal arrangements. We cracked up a bit as we found out that my falsetto had a very distinct recognizeable sound. You know those old radios from past times where you as a kid could spend an afternoon twisting the knobs on the short wave band, receiving just crackles and whinings? Well, there you have it, ha ha..

All in all, a good day in the studio, and lots of work were done.

See ya. All the best. /Fredrik

Mean Guitar Man...

Today I went to the studio, not for recording, but due to that we´ve had some problems with our alarm-system that I had to attend to. And since I was there, why not fool around a little?!! So, I started to work on some harmony-guitars for the song "The Greatest Enemy". I may have to re-do some parts, just to tweak it and make ´em even better and folks, I really don´t want to brag, but this song´s gonna kick some serious xxx.. For sure..

Shoo-ap-a-doo to ya all!!

/Peter

Burning, Burning, Burning Just Like Fire!

Eeeewww... A schorching heat ruled today as me and Peter arrived in a studio that after a few hours had no oxygene left in it at all. I was bound to lay down lead vocals for "In Love", a song that has shifted shapes a couple of times along the way. So, today i re-wrote chunks of it on location and we also recorded the vocals to a "faulty guitar" since the guitar tracks that Peter recorded for this song yesterday had vanished, MOAHAHAHAHA!!!

That´s just sooo M.O.B ?!?

Anyway, I recorded the vocals and we had to listen to them only together with the drums a couple of times, both due to the fact that it was "the wrong guitars" and also because the melody for this one is kind of "skiddelibop doa doa" and the vocals really have to flow in a certain way. We will give my performance today its final verdict when Peters guitars regarding this song is totally restored.

Hey, what can I say? Im not a skiddelibop kind of singer, Im a screamer. Period. On more than one occasion during these sessions, Ive been told:

"-Ehuum, Fredrik, that high note, you kind of sound like an broken alarm going off or something, could you try something else..." :-)

More guitars next week. Shoobap shoobap on ya all ´til then!!

Yours sweaty truly. /Fredrik

Going forward

Most of you have spent this wonderful saturday outside, enjoying the sun and the heat. But I´m not sane, so what did I do? I I defied the sun and the heat and went to the studio instead. And this afternoon has been a really productive one. I re-recorded (for the 4th time) a couple of songs and even recorded some guitar fills and It´s really amazing how the songs are developing. This album´s gonna kick some serious butt, believe me folks.

Tomorrow, Ol´Fred and I will continue to record vocals.. But tonight I´m gonna pop a few brewskis and celebrate that things are finally going my way..

Somebody get me a doctor...

.. because I´m this close to losing my mind. This evening Conny and I met up in the studio to record some bass. Or at least that was the plan, until we stumbled across some new technical problems. When we began testing sounds we noticed that there was some problems with the input signal on the bass tracks.

After a few calls to Björn and Roger and some testing with another bass, It seems that there´s something wrong with Connys main bass. And we couldn´t use the other one, due to poor sound. Now It´s Conny´s turn to get his gear fixed.

The problems never seems to end for us. Anyhow.. Tomorrow, the plan is to locate the annoying sound that my brand, new amp has begun to make all of a sudden. I´m keeping my fingers crossed. I hope you do the same.

Heavy Metal Hell and go´ kväll everyone!

Peter
